Sunday May 6th TV Catch Up
Last weeks episode saw multiple Lisa Lampinelli blow ups, and the Donald finally dismissing useless but sweet Dayana Mendoza, I was expecting this weeks episode of Celebrity Apprentice to be a bit more toned down, even with the promise of a double firing. I was mostly correct..
For this week's task, we are selling hairdryers. We have project manager Lisa Lampinelli against project manager Teresa Guidice. The planning stage was predictable, and as usual Aubrey led her team, and pretty much forced her opinion down Teresa and Arsenio's throats.
Ultimately, after the usual bickering Lisa won and Teresa lost, and was fired. I have to admit that pretty much the only reason I watch this show is for the boardroom and the behind the scenes bitch. I was so excited when I heard the table flipping New Jersey housewife was a cast member, but I have been oh so disappointed. Teresa has shown very little of her trademark explosiveness that makes the Real Housewives of New Jersey a must watch, and quite frankly she is not that smart. I was surprised that she made it as far as she did.]
The second part of the show involved two of last year's contestants interviewing and firing two more people. The first was Lisa, and the other will be revealed next week. I personally believe it will be Arsenio.
I did not know much of Lisa Lampinelli before this show, and I am glad she finally got fired. While I certainly can't dispute her intelligence and creativity, I think she is a manipulative foul mouthed bully with the ability to turn on the waterworks whenever it suits her.
Hopefully next week will be good, with plenty of drama and money raised. I have a bet with a friend that Aubrey will take the crown and am still pretty confident that I won't be wrong.

Last night saw the delivery of what I considered a pretty strong penultimate episode. There were moments of predictability, such as with Gabby taking her time to realize the sacrifice that Bree could potentially make to save her family (come on ABC, this has been done over and over again with this character), and Bree mistaking the private investigator for a hooker, which was actually quite funny. I also liked the Tom and Lynette storyline, I don't think I'm alone in wanting to see these two get back together, which I fully expect to happen in the finale.
At this point, I honestly don't care that much about Susan. I felt they killed off Mike for very little reason and then just moved on from it too quickly. I've never cared for Renee, but did get a kick of of that ridiculous purple dress.
Finally, am I alone in completely not understanding the direction that the producers have taken with Gabby. For 8 years we have seen this woman transform from a materialistic self absorbed bitch into someone more real that finally started to place her family and friends above herself and her possessions, and now, she is going straight back to Gabby from season 1. Not caring whether her husband is happy, just making sure that she still gets to have her nice things and comfortable life.
Anyways, as a fan of this show for most of its existence, I am looking forward to the finale next Sunday.
I really don't know where I stand on this show, it has its moments. I like the premise, and I like the way it portrays religion in general, and I love that it doesn't take itself too seriously. I also think its too over the top and too superficial. Can anyone relate to these women?
This weeks episode saw the girls head down to Mexico for the groundbreaking Carlene's Condos for Christian Living project. They ended up being kidnapped by a crazy Sandra Bernhardt and having to walk through the desert with only a bottle of tequila. The poor execution made it hard to watch and I kept thinking that if casts of other shows were put in that predicament, it would have been a lot more interesting (the Walker clan from my beloved Brothers and Sisters).
The real problem with this show is that It pales in comparison to ABC's other dramas. Like the Housewives and Grey's and even Revenge and Once Upon a Time. Sure, it can be good fun, but the lack of chemistry between the cast and the unrelatability of the story lines just don't make the bar for my much watch list.
